Did you know – This Opulent Manhattan Mansion is Owned By 5 countries?

Authored by: Ashwinder R Singh (Residential real estate expert & Best selling author)

An opulent Manhattan mansion went on the market last year, which would be a routine transaction if it weren’t for the fact that its owners included the governments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

In 1946, the Republic of Yugoslavia purchased the 20,000-square-foot mansion, which was styled after the Château de Versailles, as a New York embassy.

When the republic split into different countries in 1992, the property was unexpectedly split into five co-owners in the current times, all of whom must sign off before the house can be sold.
